In July 2004, the city was venerated with the first mega-kitchen built in advanced technology which served as a model for the later Akshaya Patra kitchens.

  • Bio Gas stoves that use briquettes which are made up of agricultural waste like groundnut shell, husk, saw dust, tamarind fibre and the like
  • Effluent Treatment Plant/ Sewage treatment Plant that treats wastewater with ‘effluent’ before it is released into the environment
  • Rain water harvesting
  • Solar lights and solar heater to prevent wastage of energy
