Surat, also referred to as the Diamond City is the 4th fastest growing city of the world and the first smart city in India. It also houses the ISO 22000:2005, 5S & GMP, and HACCP standardised centralised kitchen of Akshaya Patra. The kitchen was established in 2012 and was inaugurated in February 2015 by Chief Minister of Gujarat, Mrs. Anandiben Patel. The radius of the kitchen is around 7,500 square metres.
